Obituary for Rose Anna Keller

Rose Anna Keller
Rose Anna (Ziuchkovski) Keller was born on July 10, 1928 in Salmo, BC, Canada to Roman and Anna (Fill) Ziuchkovski. On June 4, 1938 the family moved to the Kettle Falls area in Washington State. She attended and graduated from Kettle Falls High School in 1945. Rose attended Holy Names College (now Heritage University) in Spokane in the nursing program. She had to quit college to take care of her mother after she was burned. She moved with her family to the Trinidad area in 1947. There she met Joseph John Keller and they were married on June 5, 1949 at St Anthony’s Catholic Church in Burke, WA. They moved to the Quincy area in 1950, where they raised their five children: Joleen, Arlene, Tom, John and Bob. She became a naturalized citizen of the United States on April 16, 1974. She worked as a dental assistant, a cook for the Quincy School District and Chuck Wagon in Quincy, an employee in various potato warehouses, and also babysat many children in the area.
Rose loved to cook and no one who visited her home ever left hungry. She was well known for her cinnamon rolls, krautrunzas, popcorn cakes and her homemade dill pickles of which most of her grandchildren teethed on. She was a devoted member of St Pius X Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir and played the organ. Her love of her family and her flowers were very important to her.
Rose is survived by her sister Lillian White of Spokane, her children, Joleen (Len) Bland of Othello, Arlene Foglesong, Tom (Mary) Keller, John (Sara) Keller and Bob (Karen) Keller all of Quincy; her grandchildren Troy (Laura) Bland of Billings, MT, Lisa Foglesong of Spokane, WA, Ryan (Summer) Keller of Wenatchee, WA, Amber Keller of Moses Lake, WA, Craig Foglesong, Jennifer (Curtis) Keenon, Stephanie, Cory, Chase, and Kaylee Keller all of Quincy as well 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, 4 brothers, son-in-law Jim Foglesong, and grandsons Ty and Eric Bland and Jay Foglesong.
Rosary will be recited on Thursday July 9, 2015 at St. Pius X Catholic Church at 5 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebratedat 11 AM on Friday, July 10, 2015 at St Pius X Catholic Church in Quincy. Interment will follow in the Quincy Valley Cemetery.
