Obituary for Richard P Pappe

Richard Phillip (Dick) Pappe died peacefully in his sleep on the evening of July 17th at Ballard Care Facility in Seattle, WA of a chronic illness.

Richard was born in Ontario, OR and grew up in Quincy, graduating in the class of 1967. He enlisted in the United States Air Force after graduating, serving in England during the Vietnam Era as a supply NCO. After an honorable discharge in 1971, Richard attended Eastern Washington University, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Counseling.

Richard spent most of his adult life in the Seattle area, working and volunteering as an Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor.

He is survived by his Stepmother Rosemary J Pappe, Quincy, three brothers and three sisters: Colonel Retired Joseph A. Pappe, Jr. (Debby), Albuquerque, NM, Marianne Pappe Keating (Mark), Philadelphia, PA, Shirley Pappe Carlson (Wendell), Olympia, WA, Don Pappe (Cyndi), Woodinville, WA, John Pappe (Monica), Prosser, WA, Evelyn Pappe Tuttle (Ken), Quincy, WA, 16 nieces and nephews and 22 grand nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Joseph A Pappe, Sr. (father) and Marie A. McGill Pappe (mother).

Funeral services were held at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Quincy.
