Life Story for Alberta Johnson

Alberta Ruth (Swann) Johnson of Quincy, was born April 19, 1931 to John Albert and Ruth Swann. She went home to be with her Lord on July 19, 2015. She was surrounded by her family at home at the time of her passing.
Alberta grew up in Salida, CA, and loved working on the ranch with her father. She attended Modesto Jr. College and worked for a candy shop and the Poultry Association. She was active in leading a local 4-H group.
Alberta accepted Christ as her personal Savior as the result of a Billy Graham Crusade. She then became active in her church, showing others her love for the Lord.
After marrying her sweetheart, Ralph V. Johnson, on June 7, 1953, the couple farmed in Salida, CA. Alberta moved with her family to Quincy, WA in 1961. They raised 4 children and continued to be active in their church.
Alberta enjoyed raising her family, helping with the family farm, and working in her garden. She was very active in church through the years as a Sunday school teacher, Librarian, Youth Group Leader, and Women’s Missionary Group Leader. For the past 18 years, she was a devoted pastor’s wife at Quincy Baptist Church. She loved to open her home to family and friends.
Alberta is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ralph, three daughters, Ruth, Kris and Alice, one son, Ralph, two granddaughters, Donna and Elaine and two great grandchildren, William and Brianna.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Don, her sister, Marian, son-in-law, Dennis and great grandson, Titus.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 27, 2015 at the First Baptist Church, 707 J Street SW, Quincy, WA.
Memorials may be made in Alberta’s name to either Assured Hospice, Quincy Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
