Obituary for Ruth Deceased - Middle Name Kehl

M. Ruth Kehl, 85, passed away on Sunday, July 10th, after an extended illness.

Ruth was born in Benton, Illinois, to Herbert and Mildred Shockley on November 16, 1930. The family moved to Wapato, WA, when Ruth was a young girl. She graduated from Wapato High School in 1948. She met and fell in love with Allen Kehl, and they were married in Wapato on November 22, 1950. They moved to Quincy in 1955, and Ruth was a farm wife, homemaker and mother. They had two sons, Gary and Chris, and a daughter, Nancy.

Her husband, Allen, passed away at an early age in 1969, and Ruth went to work at Lamb Weston until she retired in 1993. She had many close friends with whom she travelled extensively, and she was always busy planning their next excursion. She also spent many hours supporting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their activities. They were the joy in her life!

Ruth was a member of the Quincy Free Methodist Church, Quincy Women’s Investment Club, Women of the Moose, and was a charter member of the Quincy Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by her sons, Gary (Cindy) Kehl and Chris (Becky) Kehl, and her daughter, Nancy (John) Martin; her grandchildren Russell (Lisa) Kehl, Jennifer (Nick) Brunner, Adam (Sarah) Kehl, Natalie (Brian) Lawler, Adriane (Ken) Evans, Tarra Martin and Alayna Martin; and her
great-grandchildren Brett, Cody and Bailey Kehl, Shelby and Colson Brunner, Corbin and Mason Lawler, and Ainsley and Levi Evans; her brothers, Allen (Carol) Shockley and Larry Shockley, and her sister Linda (Rudy) Cole, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Remembrances may be donated to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
