Obituary for Judy Ren

Judy Ren
Judy Cleo Ren, of Quincy, passed away at home after a courageous battle with breast cancer on June 29th, 2017. She was surrounded by her loving family and best friend and was so much to those who loved and knew her, a daughter, sister, friend, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and an amazing bridge player.

Judy was born May 8th, 1941 in Basin, Wyoming to Leland and Agnes (Pickett) Weaver. She was the third of five children, growing up in Sandpoint, Idaho and Basin, Wyoming where she graduated from Basin High School. She continued her education taking administrative and secretarial courses. Judy moved to Quincy, Washington where she met and married Robert Ren on June 21, 1961. Together they raised two sons and one daughter. Judy followed Bob while he worked on the construction of various hydroelectric dams throughout the state of Washington and California before settling in Quincy where she remained a resident for almost fifty years. In Quincy, Judy worked for the Irrigation District and was a newspaper courier for the Wenatchee World, but she found her true calling working as a secretary with the Quincy School District. She retired there after twenty-six years of service and taking hundreds of student office girls under her wing.

Many of the hobbies Judy enjoyed were gardening, traveling, playing bridge, and most of all, collecting what over the years became an extensive assemblage of bunny collectables (she was a Quincy Jackrabbit at her core, after all). She was always meticulously dressed for every occasion and wouldn't even think of leaving the house without her hair done and lipstick on! Another passion she had was her love for sports cars! Her first car was a Triumph T3 roadster and her love continued until her last automobile, her candy apple red Cadillac XLR.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Leland and Agnes Weaver, her sister Sharon Stenquist, brother Patrick Weaver and husband Robert Ren. She is survived by sons Brad (Arlene) Ren of Quincy and Brett Ren of Olathe, KS, daughter Angela (Keith) Parkison of East Wenatchee, grandchildren Anthony Derrick (Abbey) Realme, Micheal (Jaimie) Ren, Nicole Realme, Jake Ren, Derek Ren, Brian Hauff, Chloe Ren, Matthew Ren and Natalie Ren, great granddaughters Hadley Ren and Madilynn Realme, brother Terry Weaver and sister Tammy (Roger) Kramer, best friend, Sharon Petrak, numerous nieces and nephews and last but not least her beloved poodle, Oreo.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, July 6th, 2017, 11:00am at the Quincy Free Methodist Church, 301 I Street SW with Pastor Shaun McNay officiating.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or any trusted animal welfare organization.
