Obituary for Narciso Medrano

Narciso H Medrano (Cecil) 82 years old passed away on January 14, 2019. He was born October 29, 1936 to Lebrado and Trinidad Medrano in Elsa, Texas.

Cecil grew up and went to school in Edcouch-Elsa, Texas. He met his wife, Irene Rangel and they were married January 31, 1961, in Texas. In 1961 he came to Quincy, WA to visit for a month but stayed 57 years. He started working with Gordon Fullerton in the farming industry, Sun Gro and Macky Higashiyama prior to getting hired by Lamb Weston. After 44 years he retired from Lamb Weston.

Cecil was a hard worker, he worked from 6 am to 1 pm and in 1968 on the side he and his wife opened a Mexican restaurant. For three years, he helped clean the restaurant at night until hours were too much and they let the business go. He raised cattle and hogs for several years. He started a dirt hauling business in 1976 and continued to work with the trucks until recently.

Cecil was involved in his community and helped build the Quincy float in 1966. He was actively involved with 4-H and FFA. He loved to cook and learned by watching his mother. He also loved fishing and would go at least twice a year to Westport to go halibut and salmon fishing with his sons. He loved to go camping and cooking on the campfire.
Cecil was a member of the St Pius X Church in Quincy, having served in various capacities throughout the years.
He is survived by his five sons, Guadalupe (Maria), Bobby, Michael (Jenny) of Quincy, Pat (Suzie) and Rick (Anna) of Wenatchee, 22 grandkids and 16 great grandchildren. 1 brother, Antonio Medrano (Kim), Dallas, Tx., 5 sisters, Rosalia Ybarra (Ramiro), Rosa, and Angelita Medrano, Edcouch-Elsa, Tx, Catalina Longoria (Henry), Moses Lake and Irma Sepulveda (Carlos), Quincy.

He was preceded in death by his wife Irene. Along with his parents Librado and Trinidad, 2 brothers, Juan and Atilano and 1 sister Maria Rumalda.

Mass of the Christian Burial was held on Friday, January 18, 2019 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Quincy, WA. Burial followed in the Quincy Valley Cemetery.
