Felipe (Phillip) M. Ybarra
Felipe M. Ybarra, 77, a longtime resident of Quincy, passed away at Central Washington Hospital on June 27, 2012.
He was born on August 23, 1932 in Edinburg TX to Celsa and Agustin, he had nine siblings. The Ybarra family was one of the pioneering migrant Mexican-American families to settle in Washington State. Felipe served in the United States Army, and was stationed at Fort Lee, Virginia. He was very proud of his country and of being a Texan! He later married, Maria del Carmen Cardona, on January 12, 1958 in Monterrey N.L. Mexico.
He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren in a variety of activities. In 2006, he was honored by the North Central Washington Activities Association, for his many years of support the students and athletes in region six, with a plaque and lifetime pass to region six activities.
One of Felipe’s greatest accomplishments was that he and his wife Carmen through great faith were able to send all their children to college. Felipe retired from Quincy Farm Chemicals where he worked for more than 30 years. He was also a parish member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
His is survived by his wife Carmen Ybarra of Quincy, his six children: M. Isabel Ybarra, Arnold Ybarra, J. Manuel (Dena) Ybarra, J. Alex (Tammy) Ybarra and J. Alfredo (Schiree) Ybarra all of Quincy and Mary Jo (Antonio) Vega of Wenatchee, his grandchildren: Alejandro, Gina, Manny, Ricardo, Emiliano, Maximiliano and Micaela. Brothers and sister Amalia Ross and Juan Ybarra both of Quincy, Francisco Ybarra of Corpus Christi, TX , Atanacio Ybarra of San Antonio, TX, Alberto Ybarra, Ruben Ybarra and Gloria Ybarra all of Edinburg, TX,
Felipe was preceded in death by his mother, father, and two siblings.

Holy rosary and viewing will be held at 6:00 p.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Sunday July 1, 2012. The Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Catholic Church, on Monday July 2, 2012 at 11:00 am, followed by the burial at the Quincy Valley Cemetery.
