Obituary for John Floyd

John Granville Floyd, 84, passed peacefully into our Lords loving hands Jan. 1, 2014. He was born February 24, 1929 in Peoria, Arizona to Alvie and Alice (Johnson) Floyd. On January 31, 1947, he married Laura Frances Perry in Kimberly, Idaho. In 1960, John moved from Twin Falls, Idaho area to George, WA with his wife and 4 children. Since his wife’s passing in 1997 he has lived in Ephrata.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Frances (Perry) Floyd, his parents, Donnie Floyd his brother, three sisters, Jerry McClain, Effie Perry and Barbara Fink, and a child Connie Jean Floyd. He is survived by his children; Kay Paulsen of College Place, WA, Jo Darwood of Lebanon, OR, Bonnie Patty of Quincy and John Steven Floyd of Ephrata, 13 Grandchildren, 39 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.
The Lord truly blessed our family in finding Harold Geesey and his staff who took wonderful, loving care of John in his last days. All our family gives thanks every day for Harold.
A celebration of life service will be held Monday, January 6th at 11 AM from the Quincy Free Methodist Church 301 H St. SW, Quincy, Viewing will be on Sunday January 5th from 3 PM – 6 PM at Scharbach’s Columbia Funeral Chapel. Concluding services and internment will follow in the Quincy Valley Cemetery.
