Obituary for Arthur Oliver Anderson

Arthur Oliver  Anderson
Arthur Oliver Anderson, 84, of Ephrata, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 10, 2014. He went peacefully in his home surrounded by those who loved him.
Arthur was born September 21, 1929 in Mount Vernon, WA, the second child to Endre & Beulah Anderson. Art graduated from Enumclaw High School in 1947. Following graduation he worked on a tug boat in Alaska, then was employed for the Washington Department of Natural Resources. Art worked as a claims agent at Mutual of Enumclaw with his dad and brother from 1949-1955.

He married Anne Sasek in 1951, they had 2 children, Janice and Artie, in 1956 he with his family moved to New Bridge, OR, giving ranching and farming a go. In 1960 he returned to Enumclaw and worked for various companies including: Boeing and Peter Kiewit where he worked building freeways and as a contractor. In 1965 Art began working for the Game Department, he transferred to Ephrata in 1975.
On November 26, 1976 Art married DeLoris, and they were blessed with their daughter, Melody.
Art retired from the Game Department in 1995.

Arthur and DeLoris enjoyed traveling, he had a number of hobbies and adventures many with his cousin Neal Paige. He loved hunting, fishing, rock hounding and attending the WA State Retired Public Employee #25 monthly meeting.
Arthur loved his family and often traveled to be with them especially for special moments.

He is survived by his children, Janice (Bill) McDow of Goldendale, Arthur (Doreyne) Anderson of Bonney Lake, Jonnie (Mike) Goodwin of Quincy, Carey (Randy) Requa of East Wenatchee, Don Majors of Moses Lake and Melody (Robert) Perdue of Pasco; sister Dorothea Hart of Sumner, WA, 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.

Arthur was preceded in death by his beloved wife DeLoris in 2005, his parents, brother, Alan and 2 great-grandsons, Jason LeDuc and Jake Navarro-Goodwin.

His legacy of love will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Viewing will be from 3 PM – 7 PM on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Scharbach’s Columbia Funeral Chapel, Quincy, WA
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, August 15, 2014 at the Ephrata City Cemetery, with a celebration of life service to follow at 12 PM (noon) at the Quincy Free Methodist Church, 301 I St SW, Quincy, WA.
