Obituary for Larry Armstrong

Larry  Armstrong
Larry Clifford Armstrong, 80, passed away on January, 14, 2015 at The Hospice House in Spokane, Wash. He was born April 11, 1934 in Rigby, Idaho to Cliff & Fern Armstrong.
He spent most of his youth living in a log cabin in Leslie, Idaho. Attending schools in Mackay, Id; Ephrata and Prosser, Wa. After graduating from High School, Larry served a 2 yr mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Australia.
In April of 1957, he married Joyce Prescott, from Sunnyside WA in the Idaho Falls, ID LDS Temple. He joined the Air Force and served 8 yrs. as an Air Traffic Controller in Japan & North Dakota. They also lived in Rigby, Id; Ephrata, Kent & Quincy, Wa. After retiring in 2004 and doing some traveling in their 5th wheel; Larry & Joyce settled in Pateros, Wa along the Methow River.
Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing and participating in sports; as a player, coach, ref & fan. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he served in many different positions. One of his last services was being part of the Helping Hands organization after the fire in Pateros, Wa ; June 2014.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Armstrong of Pateros, Wa ; children; Tami (Bart)Clements of Rexburg, Id; Terry (Kim)Armstrong of Ellensburg, Wa; Marc (Lisa) Armstrong of Pateros, Wa; Tracy (Laura) Armstrong of Strasburg, VA; 25 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way; and 3 sisters (Marjean Tew, Linda Jensen, Judy Crowder)
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother(Jay Armstrong); a sister(Karen Hoffmann); a son (Tony Armstrong); 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2015 in the Quincy LDS Church, Quincy, WA at 12:00 noon; there will be a viewing prior to the service from 10:00-11:45 am also at the church.
Dedication of the grave will be held at the Quincy Valley Cemetery.
