Obituary for Donna Lee Beauvais (Bonar)

Donna Lee Beauvais (Bonar)
Donna Lee Beauvais, former Quincy resident, passed away at the Home Place Memory Care Facility in Burlington, WA, on Friday afternoon September 25th, 2015. She was born in Mt. Home, Idaho on November 8th, 1940, and later moved to Rexburg, Idaho with her parents. In 1945, the family returned to Buhl, and Donna attended the Deep Creek Elementary School until entering Buhl Junior High.

Donna moved with her parents to Quincy in December 1955, and graduated from Quincy High School in 1958. She participated in student activities and was a member of the Girl Baton Majorettes for the high school band and cheerleaders. After high school Donna worked primarily in financial accounting and Hotel Management, and especially enjoyed her position for two years as the Executive Secretary to the CEO of Kokoku, Inc. in Everett Washington.

Donna was always adventurous and fun to be with. She had a wide circle of friends throughout her life and career. She was highly respected by co-workers, and friends as someone who was dependable and caring. Most of all Donna was a good friend to all and eager to help others in need. She was fond of horses, and devoted many hours riding, and caring for them as well as other small pets including her Shitzu dog, and talking Minah bird. In later years, she became involved in creating American Indian art and craftwork, reflective of her mother's American Indian heritage. Some of her creations with the help of her daughters were displayed at the Grant County Fair, winning awards for best original design.

Donna is survived by her two daughters, Valli Johansen, of Renton, Tanya Beck, Olympia and Son Christopher Romano, Port Angeles, WA; two grand daughters, Areyle Peak of Aberdeen, and Terrah Romano, Gunners Mate (SN), U.S. Navy, Naval Station, Norfolk, VA; her brother Larry Bonar and wife Sharon of Snohomish; nephew Brian Bonar of Lynnwood, and niece Suzanne Morris of Samammish, WA. Donna was preceded in death by her parents Guy and Mae Bonar.

Memorial services will be conducted by Reverend Shawn Mc Nay at the Pioneer Church located next to the Reiman-Simmons House, five blocks West of city center at 1 p.m. Friday, 23 October 2015.
