Obituary for Frances Allene Linscott

Frances Allene Linscott
Frances Allene Linscott, 93, of Quincy, WA went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 4, 2016. She was born October 11, 1922 in Groesbeck, Texas to Matt & Lula Knapp. She was the seventh child in the family. Her dad was a farmer and all the children were taught about the Lord Jesus Christ and how to work hard.

When Frances was 19 years of age, she moved to Washington state to work in the Green Hut Café, which at the time was just below the Grand Coulee Dam. It was also the year they first ran the water over the dam.
World War II had just started when she went back home to Lubbock, Texas to go to business school. At school they asked for young women to go to Washington DC to work in the war department in the Pentagon. She was one of 3 girls who took the test and were on their way. The war ended in 1945. She came back to Washington state and was married to Wynne Mick Foisy in October. The marriage ended in 1955 so she went to work for Dr. Everett as a dental assistance. In 1959, she met Henry Robert Linscott and were wed in December of that year. They moved to Mattawa, WA where Henry worked at the dam and later to Quincy, WA in 1967.

Fran was active as a den mother in Cub Scouts, and the PTA president when her son Michael, was in school. She loved to read her Bible, good books and bake cookies for her grandchildren. She loved being a wife to Henry, and mother to her two children (Michael & Cathy) and grandma to her 4 grandsons, and great grandma to her 7 grandchildren. She loved the Lord and was active in the First Baptist Church of Quincy in her younger years.

Fran is survived by her daughter-in-love Ruth Linscott, Quincy; her son-in-love, Jerry Roberts, Quincy; her four grandsons, Corey & wife Amy, their children, Austin, Marissa, Emilee and Hayden, Quincy; Timothy, Covington, WA; Joshua & wife Chloe’, their children, Kara, Evan and Seth, Quincy; and grandson Matthew of Covington. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Brand of Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.

Fran was preceded in death by her husband, Henry in May of 2011, her daughter, Cathy in January of 2012, and her son Michael in June of 2015.

A celebration of life for Fran will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at the First Baptist Church, 707 J Street SW, Quincy with Pastor Don Valen officiating.
