Obituary for Travis F Yeates

Travis F  Yeates
Travis F. Yeates, 34, of Kennewick and former Quincy resident died on Friday, June 10, 2016.
He was born on August 11, 1981 in Wenatchee, the son of Carol Ann Yeates and Fredrick Yeates, both of Quincy.

He attended Quincy High School in the graduating class of 2000 where he was a member of the tennis and basketball teams, and loved like a son by the football Coach Bill Alexander. Travis graduated college in 2005 from Central Washington University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Safety and Health Management. Travis began a successful career in environmental health and safety at Alstom Hydro US, Inc. in Denver, and continued in this field at Valley Electric, Inc. He was respected and valued as a Health and Safety Specialist at Washington River Protection Services with Hanford, where he was employed from October 2010 until his death. He belonged to the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), Region II; Employee Accident Prevention Council (EAPC); and a board member of the young professionals group, Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPSpeed).

Travis is survived by his loving family, mother, Carol Ann Yeates, of Quincy; and sisters, Amy Yeates, of Cornville, Arizona, and Lindsey Yeates, of Seattle; and family pet, Basel. Also surviving are his maternal grandmother, Betty Boorman; maternal uncle, Darrell Boorman; paternal uncles and aunts, Kevin and JoAnne Milne, and Carl and Mickie Yeates; and father, Fred Yeates. He leaves behind his girlfriend, Haley Taylor; and his vast community of friends and extended family in Quincy, Tri-Cities and beyond.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William Boorman; paternal grandparents, Evert and Marybelle Yeates; great-grandfather, Guy Winship; aunt and uncle, Carolyn and Holland Ford; and cousin, Todd Yeates.

A celebration of life service will be held Friday, June 17, 2016 at 2pm at Quincy High School Gymnasium, 16 6th Ave SE, Quincy, WA, with burial to follow at Quincy Valley Cemetery.

Family and friends are encouraged to gather at The Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge, 109 E St SE, Quincy, WA, following the burial to share stories and memories in celebration of Travis’s life.
