Obituary for Jess Gonzales

Jess Gonzales, age 88, a long time resident of Quincy, WA passed away Tuesday March 27, 2018 surrounded by loving family. He was born in Lubbock, Texas on April 3rd 1929 to Conception (Juarez) and Pedro Gonzalez both of Mexico. He was the 4th of 5 children.

Jess first came to the northwest in 1935 and later settled in the Yakima Valley in the early 1940’s. Jess was a young business owner with his trucking operation before he married the love of his life Alvina Hernandez Gonzales from Wapato Washington on September 6th 1949 in Benton County.

In 1950 they moved to Quincy and began working for various farm operations. His first opportunity in Quincy was working for Cedergreen Farms, a large vegetable and sweet pea operation. From there Jess went to work for Charles Faw and Sons Produce in Winchester, Washington for over 50 years.

Throughout all of Jess’s life trials and tribulations he never lost his faith and love for his Lord Jesus Christ or love of his family.

Jess was preceded in death by his wife Alvina in 1976, two daughters, Peggy and Margaret, his parents (Pedro and Conception) 4 brothers (Manuel, Ruben, Pete and Joe) and grandson Caiden Thomas Avila.

He is survived by his three sons; William (Leslie) Gonzales and Frank (Debbie) Gonzales of Quincy and Anthony (Carla) Gonzales of Kennewick, WA, seven Grandchildren Jamie (Eddie) Avila, Christina (Dustin) White, Sonya (Andy) Krueger, Trevor (Kaylee) Gonzales, Jessica (Pat) Sagdal, Jacob Gonzales and Jarod Gonzales. Seven Great-grandchildren Angel Gonzales (Johnny), Daniel Gonzales, Jorden Krueger, Haven Sagdal, Zoey Bussell, Wyatt Harrington, Elijah Gonzales, Brayden and Ryker Sagdal, Harlow White and Katie Avila. One great great grandson Jeremiah Renteria.

A celebration of life service will be held April 3rd 2018, at 11:00 A.M., at the Free Methodist Church 301 I Street SW Quincy Washington. Viewing will be from 4-6 p.m. Monday April 2, 2018, at Scharbach’s Columbia Funeral Chapel, 300 G Street SE, Quincy, WA .

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jess’s name to Assured Hospice at 1417 So. Pioneer Way, Moses Lake Washington 98837.
