Obituary for Evelyn M Whitener
Evelyn M. Whitener, 88, a longtime Quincy resident passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019 in Quincy, WA.
She was born in Yakima, WA on December 21, 1930 to Nile J. and Ella Rosel (Flemming) Hallowell. She moved with her family to Quincy in 1944 where she attended school.
On March 26, 1949 she married LeRoy Whitener in Leavenworth, WA. They moved to Pullman where they lived while LeRoy was attending veterinary school. Following his graduation they returned to Quincy.
Evelyn helped and supported LeRoy in their veterinary clinics until retirement in 1994.
She loved her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, LeRoy, children, Laura (Patrick) Escure, D. Ty Whitener and Janis (Harold) Whitener-Moberg. Seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Scharbach’s Columbia Funeral Chapel, 300 G Street SE, Quincy, WA.
