Obituary

Garland "Gar" Pilliar, 79, a longtime Quincy resident passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2019.
Gar was a life member of Quincy American Legion Post 183, he served as Commander twice, Sergeant-at-arms and was one of the advisers of The Sons of The American Legion in Quincy.

Gar could be called the "father" of the Quincy Valley Historical Society museum as he had been involved most all years since the late 1990's. He was one of the last remaining members of the "early days" of work on the Reiman-Simmons House.

Please leave a memory for the family or sign their online guestbook.

Roxie,
I am so sorry for your loss. You and Gar made such a positive impact on my life. RIP Gar! Jesus tells us in John 14:2 “In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you”. John 14:3 “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also”. Lifting you up in prayer.

On behalf of the membership of Fort Walla Walla Camp Three, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, I want to extend my sincere condolences to your family. Brother Pilliar was a dedicated member of our organization and a source of consistent encouragement during the formative years of our eastern Washington camps. He faithfully attended camp meetings and lent his support and expertise to our mission, as he did to his other fraternal organizations. Please know your family is in our thoughts and prayers during this time.
In Fraternity, Charity, and Loyalty to brother Pilliar,
Thomas P. Hull, FWW 3 camp Chaplain
