Obituary for Douglas Russell Massey

Douglas R. Massey, 72, of Quincy, WA went home to our Lord and Saviour on June 7th, 2021 surrounded by family and friends.

Doug was born on February 2nd, 1949 to Joseph and Paulina Massey in Chehalis, WA. After graduating from Desales Catholic High School in 1968, he went on to join the Marine Corps. He served for two year before he was called home to help on the family farm. From there he went on to work for Western Farmers. When they went under, he was offered a job with Cenex where he worked for over 20 years before retiring.

In May 1971 he met his wife-to-be, Pamela. They wasted no time and were married July 3rd, 1971. They raised two children together. A son, Michael Massey, and a daughter, Shawna Rookstool.

After retiring, Doug enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and spending as much time as he could with family.

He is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Paulina Massey; brothers Wayne, George, Gary, Joe, Lee, and Don Massey; and sisters Bernice Waltz and Kathy Roloff.

He is survived by wife Pamela, children Michael Massey and wife Kristina Massey, Shawna Rookstool and husband Todd Rookstool; grandchildren MaKayla Lange, MaKinna Young, Madeline Massey, Meredith Massey, Clark Rookstool, Margot Massey, Maurine Massey; greatgrandchildren Waylon Young, Kash Young, and Lindsey Lange. He is also survived by brothers Clayton, Bob, and Norm Massey; sister Fay Flag; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the Quincy Free Methodist Church, 301 I Street SW, Quincy, WA 98848.
