Garland is a 5th great grandson in my mum's Ashby family tree..

His great grandmother was Elizabeth Scott Ashby. He's my grandmother's 5th cousin. She's a NZ Ashby descendant / cousin to Garland. RIP Garland.

I am so sorry for your loss. You and Gar made such a positive impact on my life. RIP Gar! Jesus tells us in John 14:2 “In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you”. John 14:3 “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also”. Lifting you up in prayer.

On behalf of the membership of Fort Walla Walla Camp Three, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, I want to extend my sincere condolences to your family. Brother Pilliar was a dedicated member of our organization and a source of consistent encouragement during the formative years of our eastern Washington camps. He faithfully attended camp meetings and lent his support and expertise to our mission, as he did to his other fraternal organizations. Please know your family is in our thoughts and prayers during this time.
In Fraternity, Charity, and Loyalty to brother Pilliar,
Thomas P. Hull, FWW 3 camp Chaplain
