Obituary for Lorree Van Velkinburgh

Lorree Van Velkinburgh, 81 of Quincy, passed away suddenly on March 14, 2020 at Central Washington Hospital, in Wenatchee.

She was born in Salem, Oregon on October 30, 1938 to Olive and Henry Garcia. Her mother later married W.E. “Bud” Johnson of Quincy, who was a wonderful step-father to her. Lorree married the love of her life, Charles Van Velkinburgh, on December 16, 1955 in Quincy. Chuck was in the Air Force, so she had the opportunity to live in my places, including Okinawa, North Dakota and Michigan. They settled in Quincy when Chuck retired from the Air Force in 1976, and Lorree worked at the Sprouse Reitz Variety Stores in both Quincy and Ephrata until her retirement.

She is survived by her husband Chuck, children Doug (Debra) of Portland, Candi (Ed) French of Bonney Lake, 13 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, children Dennis and Cheri, and grandson, Michael.

A private service for the family has been held. Please leave a memory for the family or sign their online guestbook at www.scharbachs.com.

Scharbach’s Columbia Funeral Chapel, Quincy is assisting the family with arrangements.
