Obituary for Marcos E Sanchez

Marcos Everardo Sanchez, irreplaceable grandson, son, brother, uncle, friend, and significant other passed away suddenly on May 14th, 2022. Marcos, or Mijo as he was affectionately known, was born at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake Washington on December 1, 1990. An indication of his larger-than-life size was Marcos entering the world at 10lbs 11oz, breaking his mom’s tailbone on the way out.

Marcos found a passion for music at a young age and would spend any time and money he had pursuing that ever growing affection. He graduated from Quincy High School in 2009 where he met the love of his life Courtney. They settled in Quincy where Marcos worked for the Quincy School District. Marcos and Courtney both recently earned their bachelor’s degree in Education and had plans to use the degree to earn an income that could support their passions, for Marcos that was music. The electric guitar was his first instrumental love but soon found a niche to play acoustic guitar as well as write his own music and lyrics. From metal to country, Marcos had a gift that any who witnessed can attest to. Not to mention a voice that he was only recently beginning to share with the world.

The laid back, gentle giant loved all people and animals, having many four-legged babies adopted by both Courtney and himself. Survived by mother Carol Sanchez, sister Alicia Sanchez, brother Joey Sanchez (wife Shanda), his love Courtney Boruff, grandmother Jean Alfaro, nieces Kalia and Camila Mae, nephews Judah, Travis, and Keanu, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Mijo will be missed every day for the rest of our lives.
