Obituary for Pennie Weber (Gardner)

Pennie Dean Weber of Quincy returned to her heavenly home May 3, 2022, after a long struggle with diabetes and related health problems. She was born Jan 26, 1950, to Dean and Vena Gardner in St. Anthony, Idaho. She was the eldest of their four children and spent her early years in Idaho where she attended the first grade at Teton Elementary. In 1956 she moved to Quincy with her parents to farm when water was brought to the Columbia Basin.

Pennie was raised in Quincy and married her high school sweetheart, Steve Weber, on June 9, 1967. They raised their family of 6 children on their own farm where Steve was raised just 7 miles to the west of her parents’ home. Pennie loved her family, both immediate and extended. She loved family reunions and spending time with beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins where there were lots of campfire conversations and family sing-a-longs.

She was an avid and talented seamstress and loved crafts. She loved to dress her children in matching outfits she sewed herself and enjoyed spending time with her 21 grandchildren making crafts and playing Yahtzee and Dominos.

Pennie was always welcoming to guests in her home. When her children’s friends were over for dinner or weekend sleepovers, they felt loved and cared for. Her home was a safe haven which had a great impact on many lives.

Pennie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many Church callings over the years including Primary, Young Women’s, and the Relief Society. No matter the calling, Pennie loved to serve others, to give, and to love. She loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ and often spoke of getting to Heaven soon to send down her great-grandchildren, some currently known, and the many who will follow. Her faith in Jesus Christ and the Plan of Salvation provided her comfort in knowing she would soon be reunited with her mother, brother, and other family who have gone on before.

She is survived by her husband Steve; her children, Devin (Leslie) Weber of Farr West, Utah; Stephanie (Garth) Munns of Rigby, Idaho; Ryan (Rebecca) Weber of Salem, Utah; Shawn (Michael) Weber of Midland, Texas; Chad (Cherise) Weber of Orem, Utah; Alicia (Michael) Johnson of Ketchikan, Alaska. She is also survived by 14 Granddaughters, 7 Grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter (with 2 more great-grandchildren on the way).

She is also survived by her father, Dean Gardner of Quincy, and two brothers Nick (Darnell) Gardner of Soap Lake, Washington and Harold (Dorinda) Gardner of Quincy, two aunts, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her mother Vena Gardner, brother Brent Gardner, mother-in-law, father-in-law, and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, May 19, 2022, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Quincy with viewing at 10:00 am. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 21, 2022, at the Teton-Newdale Cemetery, Idaho.
