Obituary for Miriam R Martin

Miriam R Martin
Miriam Renee Martin, a lifetime resident of Coulee City, WA passed away August 7, 2016 after a courageous battle of cancer.

She was born May 1, 1961 in Soap Lake, WA, the daughter of Karl and Joanne (Jorgensen) Jones.

Growing up, she was involved in 4-H activities, helping on the farm, and sports activities, cheerleading being her niche. After graduating and attending college, she married her high school sweetheart, the love of her life, Bob. They continued to let love grow, when some time later they welcomed their first born son into the world. Their family was completed years later, after the birth of their baby girl.

Miriam’s pride in life was her children. She was their biggest supporter and number one fan when it came to the Waterville Fair, the showing, fitting and selling of their pigs. She was a competitive sports mom; most weekends were spent traveling to games and she loved it. Of all things in life, being a mom was her favorite of all. She enjoyed camping, trapshooting, fishing, Gonzaga basketball, shopping, family gatherings and special weekend trips with her sister’s.
Miriam had a strong desire and dedication to work, as she worked almost 25 years for Jim Jess Implement, Cash Hardware and Evergreen Implement. After her diagnosis in November of 2014, Miriam’s increasing health needs required her to take some time away from work to focus on her own wellness. During these trying times, she never gave up hope. She was a feisty fighter and at times impatient but she always remained positive. She had the biggest heart, no matter how difficult her life was, she always worried about everyone else. Miriam was known and will always be remembered by her beautiful soul, inside and out. She never missed an opportunity to express her love with hugs and heartfelt “I love you”. These were the attributes her family and friends loved and will cherish while remembering the joy and wonderful memories she created with them.

Miriam is survived by her husband of 34 years, Robert Martin at the home, children Justin Martin and wife Julie, Moses Lake, WA, Karlee Martin and fiancé Rick Walter, Spokane, WA, granddaughter Samantha Bullock, Toelle, UT, father and step-mother, Karl and Julie Jones, Almira, WA, sister Anita Burch, Inchelium, WA brother Wayne Jones, Wenatchee, WA sister Karlene Carlson and husband Bud, Moses Lake, WA brother Curtis Hooper and wife Sarah, Colville, WA step-sister Nancy Sabado and husband Jim, Shorline, WA and step-brother Jeff Campbell, Odessa, WA, Aunt Betty Jorgensen, Uncle Gordon Jorgensen, Coulee City, WA and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
