Kenneth J  Dipprey
Kenneth John Dipprey, 81, of George, WA, passed away Tuesday morning, August 23, 2016 in Wenatchee, WA. Ken was born April 4, 1935 in Lake Nebagamon, WI, to George and Elsie (Wasgren) Dipprey.

The family moved to Washington State in 1942 living in Ellensburg, Cle Elum, Ronald, and finally settling in Mount Vernon. He graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1953. Ken enlisted in the Marine Corp reserves during his senior year of high school, serving in active duty from 1954-1956 in Okinawa, Japan and was honorably discharged from the reserves in 1960.

He returned to Mt. Vernon and then in the early 60’s moved to Quincy, WA. He married Barbara Hutchison on May 24, 1968 and they were married until her death in July 2010.

Ken’s life was marked by hard work, integrity, and service to his community. He farmed wheat and grain in George, for many years, worked for the Grant County Fire District #3, and later drove and dispatched for National Frozen Food Company. He also served as a volunteer firefighter for Grant County Fire District for 30 years.

Ken is survived by his daughters, Debbie (Kent) Pearsons of East Wenatchee and Sandi (Brian) Tunis of Renton, WA; his grandchildren Hannah and Katie Tunis, and Jake, Kyle, and Kaylee Pearsons; his sisters, Betty Wilson and Donna (Tom) Armstrong of Eugene, OR and Dorothy (Chuck) Garvey of Wenatchee, WA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Barbara.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 1 pm at the Quincy Free Methodist Church, 301 I Street SW, Quincy, WA.

A reception will follow at Grant County Fire District #3, 1201 Central Ave S, Quincy, WA.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the George Volunteer Fire Department Memorial Garden, 1201 Central Ave S., Quincy, WA
