Big Brother Ron

Ron was always looking out for me since day one in Sand Point, AK. Always a big smile and a "How you doing girl?", could always go to him when I needed a heart to heart conversation. One paticular incident that I will not forget is when I was hanging out with Ron and the welder in the welding shop and two young fishermen came in the weld shop looking for a part. Ron left with them to help them out and when he comes back he has the biggest grin on his face then says "I have a good one for you Laura, Guess what I just told those guys?" I'm just thinking oh gosh what the heck has he done. He goes on to tell me that the two guys where asking about me, who I was, what I did there at Trident, etc. Ron knowing these two guys from around town, and knowing that they are just trouble and bad news and that I wouldn't have any interest in guys like that. Ron had told them that I am Chuck Bundrants granddaughter (founder and owner of Trident Seafoods), and that they had better watch out and that my husband(of which doent exsist) is also bigger then himself. This is even funnier if you've seen me I guess where I stand at 4ft 10in. I still can't go in to town without someone stopping and telling me "oh your Chucks granddaughter" I can help but just start laughing. It's one of those memories that will stick with me forever and will always be able to look back on on get a good chuckle. He made my mother feel better about me coming to alaska alone as a young woman. She knew I some one always there looking out for me. He will forever hold a place in my heart and memory. Laura
