James (Jim) Thomas Casey passed away on April 5, 2016 at his winter home in Mesa, AZ. Jim was born to Jeff and Marie Casey on November 16, 1941 in Wallace, Idaho. He was raised just a few miles away in Mullan, a small mining town on the Idaho panhandle. Upon graduation from Mullan High School, Jim attended Eastern Washington University. Part way though his time at Eastern, Jim enlisted in the Navy. During his Navy years, Jim worked in supply where he no doubt put some of his leadership skills to practice. After being discharged from the Navy, Jim returned to Eastern where he completed his degree in Marketing.

He moved to the Tri-Cities for his first job at the National Bank of Commerce as a repo man. Jim took classes and eventually became a lender specializing in Agriculture. He continued learning for the rest of his life and passed his love of knowledge and learning to his children.

It was in the Tri-Cities he met Elizabeth McCormick at a bowling event in October of 1968. They wed on February 15, 1969. Jim and Liz spent several years in Richland before moving to Quincy. The bank moved Jim to Othello for a few years and then the family returned to Quincy permanently. Although the names of banks changed, Jim maintained a loyal customer base, speaking highly of his excellence in the profession.

When not at the bank, Jim could be found at the golf course, Rotary Club, Geocaching, and a variety of his kid’s school and extracurricular activities.

Jim was an active member in the Quincy Rotary Club for many years serving as the club secretary and even had a stint as the Sergeant at Arms. Over the years he hosted several exchange students, helped with the annual Farmer Consumer Day BBQ, and sat on the scholarship board. Jim had a quick wit and light sense of humor that will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife Corinne, four children: Kristina (Don) McCrady, Kerry (Don) Oppenheim, Jeffrey (Ashley) Casey, and Erin (Ryan) Carpenter, and seven grandchildren.

Jim is preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth, daughter Katie, his brother Jeff, sister, Marion, and parents.

A celebration of life service will take place at 11:15 on Thursday, April 14th at Faith Community Church, Quincy, followed by a reception at the Quincy Moose.
