Obituary for Elia R. Jaramillo (Rangel)

Elia R. Jaramillo (Rangel)
Elia R. Jaramillo, 88, of Quincy was surrounded by her family when she was called home to our Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 24, 2009.

Although we mourn her passing, her life long journey is a true testimony of her strength, wisdom and unconditional love for all who knew her. We will be forever inspired by the way she lived her life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend and follower of Jesus Christ.

Elia was born on February 16, 1920 to Jose and Andrea Rangel in Corpus Christi, TX, she was a middle child with an older sister and a younger brother.
She married Manuel T. Jaramillo in 1940 and they made their home in Elsa, TX where they started their family and began their journey together.

In 1942 they moved to Washington State and lived in Mabton.
In the early years of their marriage she labored hard to help support the family business while continuing to raise her family.

In 1965 she moved with her family to Quincy where she was a homemaker and later worked and retired from Lamb Weston. She resided in the Quincy community until her passing.

Through the many blessings and trials she remained devoted and committed to the care of her family. This was shown in many ways to cooking a big meal for all to enjoy to sewing clothes for her loved ones.

She is survived by children, Bernie (Diane) Jaramillo of Grandview, Irma (Louie) Garcia of Seattle, Angie (Lupe) Padron of Wenatchee and Rosie (John) Hernandez of Quincy, nieces, Dora Jaramillo of Texas and Ramona Sanchez of Grandview, 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren and many more extended family.
