Obituary for Arnold Ybarra

Arnold Ybarra
It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the loss of our dear friend, community member, and family member Arnold Ybarra. However, it is with great joy and pleasure that we remember the amazing man and good times Arnold had. Arnold was born on October 24th 1959 in Prineville, Oregon. Arnold lived in Quincy and graduated from Quincy High School in 1978. While at QHS Arnold showed his athletic ability and become a stand out athlete in football, wrestling, and tennis. After high school Arnold entered the United States Army and proudly served his country for four years. Upon leaving the military Arnold attended and graduated from Spokane Community College with a degree in culinary arts in 1984. He used that degree to serve as a chef in California, Idaho, and Washington. In 1988 Arnold began working for the Quincy School District. It is here that Arnold found his true passion. Arnold served as a para educator at the junior high and high school. He also coached football, wrestling, and tennis. Over the 29 years Arnold served the district he touched countless lives of students, athletes, and teachers he worked with. Everyone who has ever met Arnold has a story to tell about how he made them laugh or some amazing act of kindness he completed. Arnold was truly an unselfish man that put all others before himself. There are countless stories of Arnold buying supplies for his athletes, purchasing someone’s meal who didn’t have money, and even giving money to families to help them in their times of need. Arnold had a passion for athletics that continued throughout his life, Arnold loved watching all sports and enjoyed playing golf and pool with his friends and family.

Arnold is survived by his mother Carmen Ybarra. Siblings Isabel Ybarra, Manuel (Dena) Ybarra, Alex Ybarra, Fred (Schiree) Ybarra, Mary (Antonio) Ybarra-Vega. Nieces and Nephews Alex Saldana, Gina Saldana, Ricky Saldana, Manny Ybarra, Mica Ybarra, Emilio Ybarra, and Max Vega.
